Mud Room

Riley: What's that room called? Me: A mud room. Riley: I don't see any mud. My first mud room. Ever. I am so excited. Time to paint. (I just realized the DE stands for Dunn Edwards. And I'm not blond.) This is a grey color with blue undertones. It really looks more blue than grey, but is a beautiful color. Time to decorate. I made this shelf! I found brackets at Hobby Lobby, bought a maple slab at Home Depot, cut the wood to size, sanded and then stained the wood espresso, attached the brackets, and mounted the custom shelf! The jars were Oui yogurt jars filled with rocks, roses, and greens.  What would I do differently? Take the baseboards off, put on the shiplap, put the baseboards back on.  Learn how to properly do a mitered corner. Do a Carpenter style corner instead of a 45 degree mitered corner. Replace the engineered countertop with a wood counter - probably espresso in color....

Down the rabbit hole...

It's more contagious than COVID. It's more infectious than the flu. Let me esplain... It started July 2018 when I finished by BSN. Suddenly, I had all this free time that I had previously spent studying and writing papers and what was I to do with it?! I ended up at Hobby Lobby and 2 years later I am still DIYing. When I first moved into my house in February 2016, I had some light fixtures that were supposed to go in a custom house that Voldemort and I were building (that is another blog). So I decided to hang one of them up in my half bath.  Link: Clarissa Glass Drop Chandelier I found this cute frame at Hobby Lobby and tried to figure out what I should do with it. I ended up stapling chicken wire to the back and adding flowers. I still want to add a backsplash to the entire wall behind the sink, but that must come later after the upstairs if finished.
